Description: It's time to add some vegetation. I added all of the bougainvilleas that I could see, which include the bougainvillea tree near the front gate, all over the walls of Isabela's tower and also on top of the roof on Pepa's tower. I also finished the roof tiles on the kitchen area, which I forgot to finish in the last video. First, I started by adding the lawn. I started with a large plain and added some curves to make the grounds look uneven. I covered the plain with a grass texture for now. I'm going to come back and add some 3D grasses. But most of the space will be covered with shrubs, so we will leave it like that for now. I haven't added the background hills and mountains yet, because that will increase the rendering time by a lot, so we will add it when we get to that point. Already, rendering this house takes like a full day, so I want to finish the front area first. I want to start with the brightest flowers on Casita and that has to be the flowers near the front gate and the flowers on Isabela's tower. I started with the assumption that it is the same flower. I searched around the Internet to find out what kind of flower it might be and I eventually came across bougainvilleas. It says bougainvilleas are very common in Colombia too along with many other South American countries. I saw a few pictures and they do look like the flowers on Casita. It is a vine tree and they come in several shapes and colors. So I started modeling bougainvilleas. The actual flowers are really small. What looks like the red flower petals are actually leaves. The actual flowers look like stigmas inside the red flower. There are three white flowers inside the three red leaves. The white flowers inside have about ten white petals. I downloaded a picture of bougainvillea green leaf. I used a particle system to generate many leaves. I added some randomness to the rotation. I created a branch full of leaves. I also downloaded a picture of bougainvillea's red leaf, which looks like a flower petal. I created what looks like a flower using three of these leaves. And then I downloaded the picture of the white flower and then put three white flowers inside the red leaves. Now we have the base flower. I again used the particle system to automatically generate many of these flowers along a branch. I repeated the process again for the white flowers and the purple flowers. The bougainvillea tree near the front gate has a visible tree trunk, so I needed to model the tree trunk. I started with a cylinder. Split it into two branches. And then randomly extruded the branches in random rotations until I got decent curves. I painted the tree trunk with a bark texture. And then I copied and pasted lots of those branch full of leaves and flowers until they covered up not only the tree branches but also on top of the roof of the front gate. For the flowers on Isabela's tower, I did not create the tree trunk. I'm not sure where the tree trunk is. I think it is located below the tower in front of the kitchen area, but it is not very visible. I decided to just ignore the tree trunk. I copied and pasted lots of flowers and leaves. I used all of the red, purple and white flowers. I tried to cover up most part of the front side of Isabela's tower. I also covered up the side as well as little bit of the kitchen area. Finally, I decorated Pepa's tower as well. I copied and pasted the leaves on top of the roof and the leaves also hang down beside the right window. I copied and pasted some red bougainvilleas. They are in small clusters, not huge blossoms like the other two areas. I think the house looks so much better with the plants.
